CAMEROONIAN AND THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES by: BCN ROMEO
It is likely to see young Cameroonians talking about the government and their ills.
It should be noted that when you hear Young Cameroonians talking and criticizing the political system of this country, if studies well, the source of their critics are the old men who in time past have felt politically cheated and so decide to put to decay the activities of the government.
This has however occupied the mind of the younths who without findings of the validity of the information, goes about and littering the atmosphere with these information that was born of individual bias and not from facts.
It is however true that all is not well with the political system of this country but what are we to do?
Fold our arms and watch it go from bad to worst, criticize or plan coups to dethrone the defaulters?
Before coming to a conclusion as to what you as an individual will do, why not take a time and ask yourself these questions;
"Did i in anyway contribute to this ills system?",
"The action i am about to take, who is going to suffer from it and who is going to enjoy from it?"
"The action i am about to take, is it because of my love and patriotism or out of greed?"
"Is there no other way to do make it better rather than this?"
These are some philosophical questions that should govern your thoughts.
If in answering the first question, you realize that you did not contribute to the decay, think again because it is not only about what you did that led to the decay, it is also about what you did not do.
With this, you will realize that in one way or the other, you contributed to the decay.
It is likely to find Youths saying; '"I do not vote".
When asked why, they will say "
It makes no difference if i vote or not since it will still be rigged.
But that is not true because Your vote counts.
If by answering the third question above, you will find out that, most of what we say and do is not out of the love for our country but out of greed and our own desires.
Let me ask you this question, that you want somebody from your region or tribe to be the president of this country, what is behind your mind?
Is it love or greed.
You do not care about the social, religious, educational and even ideological background of the person.
All you care about is HE IS FROM MY REGION OR TRIBE. AT LEAST THE ROADS TO MY VILLAGE/REGION/TOWN WILL BE TARED.
Cameroonians to make things short, we are our problem.
It is our responsibility to make the world a place to be.
The president is our servant. It is because of greed that we sold our powers as masters to him.
So do not blame anybody. BLAME YOURSELF.
TAKE IT AS A RESPONSIBILITY TO RESTORE THE GLORY OF THIS COUNTRY.
YOU CAN DO IT IF THE LOVE OF OUR FATHERS LAND REST IN YOU.
